By age 18, Robin joined her grandmother in Jamaica, teaching at a local village school. Robin was also inspired by her aunt, Liotta, a missionary in Trinidad and Tobago. Maturing into an adult, Robin admired the humanitarian spirit in people and how they would sacrifice their own comfort to help others less fortunate. These characteristics became intertwined with her own, and have been foundational in her commitment in serving others.
